WHAT IS TEN

Teach Every Nation, Bible School on Wheels (TEN, BSOW) is a resource to disciple and equip the body of Christ. Founded by Dr Bruce Wilkinson, it is a global Christian education program that trains pastors and equip the body of Christ. In simple terms TEN is a resource and a discipleship tool, this involves material from TEN which consists of teaching videos mainly by Dr. Bruce Wilkinson and other teachers as well as a workbook which is also known as a Superbook.

TRAINING CENTRES (TC)
A Training Centre (TC) is anywhere where TEN classes take place. This could be a church building or venue, a house, a school, a community hall or an office space. One of the reasons it’s called Bible School on Wheels is because it’s going where the people are.

Launches - A Training Centre launch is whereby a TEN representative goes into an area or a center to introduce and share the vision and mission of TEN BSOW with the intention to start a new class or many classes. This applies to areas where we do not already have classes happening. What a launch will look like is relative meaning it depends on the context. However, the aim to have the New Life Journey admin team and the provincial leaders working together with potential deans in the area organize a launch. Deans training is another key component when we are starting into new areas.

Training Centre Facilities - A TC is anywhere where TEN class happens. This could be a church building or venue, home, school, community hall or office. BSOW, flexibility. The local deans will have to liaise with provincial leaders to ensure all the necessary requirements for a TC are met in order create the best learning environment possible.

Basic Training Centre Requirements - A free environment where people are able to meet. Can be a church building, a house, community hall or even office or work space. Must have an electronic gadget to watch the videos. I.e. television, projector, laptop, tablet etc. Must factor in power back up, if necessary.

Training Centre Class Schedule - TCs are to choose a day and time that works for them. Deans must come up with a class schedule that suits the realities of their students and context. However, it will also be helpful to look at the graduation schedule, this gives deans and students some form of goal to aim for.

Please note, our thrust is that respective churches or organizations must assume ownership of their centers or classes including the operating expenses. As New Life Journey we come to complement what you are already doing as a church or organization as opposed to running as a parallel institution.

We also encourage deans and provincial leaders, when you introduce this discipleship tool to other churches or groups please do your best to get the leaders of that particular church to lead and facilitate classes and training centers.

List of Learning Material
• A set of videos provided by means of USB stick. These videos are available in the starter pack. These videos can be copied to other electronic gadgets for use.
• A workbook, this works hand in hand with teaching videos. The workbook has been designed in a way that students can in blank spaces as they go through the teaching video.
• The box pack also contains certificates that deans can fill in and hand out at the end of the course. Deans and provincial leaders have the responsibility to ensure that anyone who gets the certificate is worthy of the honor. Meaning they must have assessed the progress and work of the recipient. Provincial leaders are to sign off the certificates.

DEANS
A dean is any person either a leader or a mature believer who facilitates a TEN class. They do not necessarily have to teach as that portion is already covered in the video. Deans facilitate discussions during classes to ensure that none of the students have been left behind.

The roles of the deans also include the following:
• Deans have the responsibility to ensure the availability and updates of records of students and attendance register.
• Deans have the responsibility to assess the work and progress of the students.
• Deans are to facilitate the collection of money and have updated financial records. (From a New Life Journey perspective, receipts will be issued upon payment for cash received.)

Note, deans have the liberty to create their own teams for their training centers. This may be a treasure, secretary, IT person and so forth as long as it helps them to be effective as a center or as a class.

GRADUATION PROTOCOL AND FORMAT
We aim to have at least two graduation intervals every year, one around the middle of the year and another towards the end of the year.

Graduation Attire
Students who chose to wear graduation gowns must be black a hood in color of class year and a TEN logo on the hood.
• Year 1, black gown and red hood.
• Year 2, black gown and blue hood.
• Year 3, black gown and green hood.
• Year 4, black gown and gold hood.

provincial Leaders and deans must communicate the graduation protocol to students upon commencement of classes. This is to give students ample time to prepare for the graduation should there be any graduation fees to be charged.

Guests of Honor for Graduation Ceremonies
We encourage deans and provincial leaders to do their best to avoid inviting guests of honor who can be controversial or of a divisive stand, belief or organization. As a result the criteria for a guest of honor is that it should be a leader of a church or a para-church organization of good reputation.

Program on Graduation Events
The program of the event or graduation day will be uniform. An official structure of what the day will look like will be designed.

KEY VALUES
In order to stay true to what God has called TEN to be, there are certain values we must always remind ourselves of.
a) This is simply a discipleship tool, this is a resource to disciple and equip the body of Christ.
b) This works on partnerships and feedback. As TEN we believe we are coming to compliment what churches are already doing. As TEN we come to complement what you are already doing as a church or organization as opposed to running as a parallel institution. We aim to partner with church and organizations leaders who are the gatekeepers. Our goal is to provide a tool that helps them become more effective in what God has called them to.

To activate the local church to be a sending entity!

To continually seek ways to improve and innovate discipleship strategies and methods!
